Ben's Vintage Toy Museum, Penang | Malaysia

Penang has a new attraction. It is a toy museum and it is called Ben’s Vintage Toy Museum. This museum belongs to a private owner who has amassed thousands of pieces of vintage toys from his years of dealing in antiques and curios.

As its name suggest, the collection of toys in this museum are all vintage toys from the 1940′s right through to the 1970′s. Some are one of a kind and very rare. So, for some a visit to the vintage toy museum will be like a walk down memory lane evoking memories of their childhood.

The Vintage Toy Museum is located on Lebuh Acheh which is right in the the hustle and bustle of Georgetown and highly accessible. The museum is a stone’s throw away from famous landmarks in Penang namely the Kapitan Kling Mosque and the Khoo Kongsi.

You will be browsing through a treasure trove of toys and models.

Its collection of toys include robots, dolls, trains, aircrafts, guns, space toys, paddle cars and many more. Made of tin or bakelite some of them come from the early 1900′s from countries such as 1920′s and made in Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, the United States and Russia.

Come n embark on a journey of nostalgia. You will be mesmerized!
Ben Jnr was a formidable host. Showing us around and entertaining the kids with some interactive pieces he had on display. It is a lovely collection, obviously much loved and brought back some nice memories for me.

it is the only 1 in asia as they consist of

The owner was really friendly and passionate about his museum, The first floor had a nice assortment of toys such as pinball machines, bowling toys, an air rifle, an old handheld video game. The owner also showed us some vintage comics.

The second floor is filled with cars for small kids. Overall i felt that the museum was really interesting and gave me a nostalgic feeling. My favourite attraction of the trip

I noticed he did try to explain and guide everyone in the muzeum. Let us play and have fun with few vintage toy .
Owner got few vintage toy for sale right in front of the entrance

toys from early 1900's to 1980's.fun to bring along your kids..Bring back old memories of childhood toys I play..Rocking horses pedal cars and tricycles as well as push scooters frm the fifties are sure most interesting items.

Many of these toys were made at the turn of the 20th century. They offer a glimpse at the play things from that era.
stroll amidst its display of vintage toys and childhood mementos will evoke a familiar nostalgia from your childhood.

It is a vast collection of pictures and memories in Ben’s Vintage Toy Museum and I really can’t share everything with you all here. But I strongly recommend everyone of you to must visit this place if you would like to search for your long lost memories or just take a glimpse on your parents’ childhood.

This is definitely the place that you should not miss. It is located at Lebuh Acheh. Nearby of this museum you also can find some metal sculptures too!

These toys are powered by a spring inside. You get a key, wind up the toy and then it can move for several minutes. The wind-up toys are within the most charming mechanical toys. They can be powered by rather complex gears and can perform a big variety of movements.
