Penang 2015 (Family Trip)
I was travelling everywhere by myself with friends all the time to every city or country in the global , we seldom do family trip together due some family members was busy on working and studying .
So , I decide to make a family trip during a week of school holiday to Penang since it was near my hometown ipoh , everything is been arrange Hotels , place to visit and foods to eat for 3 day 2 nights .
118 Hotel
I book 118 hotel through via online , they charge RM140 per night for Deluxe Triple Room due school holiday and RM118 due normal day , it's located at the heart of Penang town and walking distance to komtar and Penang Time square . the was very clean and comfort , staff was really friendly and here was really worth to stay if looking for cheap , comfort and walking distance to places nearby the town .
We Move from ipoh at 12pm and reach penang then directly check in when we reach Georgetown , Put down our luggage took a refreshing bath and straight away start our vacation visit in penang .
Penang Hill(Bukit Bendera)
1st stop at Penang Hill , we was lucky because there was not much people visit Penang Hill today . we manage to reach on top the hill for half hour waiting .
Sin Guat Keong Coffee Shop
After we Visited Penang Hill(Bukit Bendera) on the evening , Three of us was hungry and spot a coffee shop that surrounded by alot of different foods hawker around and makes me made a hard press on my brake pedal .
Day 2
Waked at 9a.m and went out to get our breakfast at one of the kopitiam in campbell street .
Kek Lok Si Temple
After the breakfast , we directly went to Kek lok si temple that located at Air Itam , at that moment It's slightly raining and we spend almost an hour visiting bottom till top the hill .
Asam Laksa , Air Itam
It's-a-must to get the Infamous Asam Laksa at Air Itam market after Pray pray at Kek Lok Si Temple , Looking for Parking is a problem and finding a table also a problem here . If you manage to found a table means you settle everything that i said ealier . No Menu's for choices only asam laksa to order and everybody knows that Or fried "LOBAK' as snack .
Sister's Curry Mee (咖喱面)
Walking distance from asam laksa air Itam to this sister Curry Mee , There are numerous Curry Mee stalls in Penang and each stall has its own version of soup and ingredients. Some have their coconut based stock reddish while some comes in a lighter pale color version, at times known as White Curry Mee .
The Penang Island Parking Coupons are cardboard coupons that have to be displayed prominently on the dashboard of parked vehicles on Penang Island. One of the highlights of Penang besides the awesome food , the Street art of the heritage in penang . I have visit all the common street art few time ago and look forward for new art like the lion dance wall art and the girl with the kuih kapit wall art .
Chew Jetty
Visiting With no limit and won't get bored , I been here for few times and there was always have something new will going on In chew Jetty . While enjoying the breeze and taking great photo at the same moment .
Batu Ferringhi
Reach here almost at six in the evening , sit down and relaxing with the sea breeze while watching others playing on the water sport .
Straits Quay
Drive my family to Straits Quay have a walk before heading for dinner , see those rich people park their yatch at here .
Goh Huat Seng, one of the oldest Teochew restaurants in Penang has been in operation for more than fifty years . We reach around 7p.m and parking kinda hard to find if nearby and don't simply park at the illegal yellow line , the bandaraya her is active till 9 p.m , they will lock your wheel and leave a number to contact if you find out yours car been lock . just park abit far to avoid been lock Because I been seeing live when other vehicle been lock .
Day 3 (Last Day)
Waked Early and try to visit all the places that been planned on our last day on island .
Upside Down Museum 顛倒博物館
After take a simple breakfast , we thought to visit 3D art museum at lebuh Penang as plan but my sense tell me , it gonna be boring because I visit few time at different places for 3D art museum before , so it gonna be almost the same then we change place to upside down museum that located at Lebuh Kimberley since it was just open two months ago .
Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul
I had this before during my few previous Penang trip , this time I bring my family to have a try and they said it was awesome , the stall is still remains how I remembered it to be .
Penang Hop-On Hop-Off
Afternoon started to dawn to evening , Before driving back to ipoh ,
Let me enjoy Penang view without driving , just pay for the tour and give the driver to drive us around penang . Two route of the ride take us about 4 hours ride and we stop by at the last stand at Gurney drive where we step up earier . It comes to dinner when the sky turns dark , we just walk few step to Tanjung Gurney to feed us up before heading back to Ipoh .
Had A fun three day two night with the family and planned well trip with smooth day without rain or storm going on . Even thou I bought them for a short trip but they really enjoy and happy with it . next year I will plan a trip that further far for them , maybe a island short getaway .
