Kuala Sepetang offers some truly unforgettable sights and experiences on this tour to the another world. Spread over an area of 40,000-hectare Matang Mangrove Forest . the mangrove Nature Park features a beautiful mix of well-protected green mangrove forests and Fish villagers sight .


As you cruise down the calm , winding river, you will observe the wonders of the park's marine ecosystem , its flora and fauna and the natural inhabitants such as the over-hanging 'Bogak Trees', Brown Eagles, Tree Crabs , Monitor Lizards and Macaques .


This mangrove reserve contains rich and diverse wildlife that provide nature lovers to visit and explore its wetlands and resources . This is also regarded as the breeding grounds for numerous species of marine crustaceans including crabs, shrimps, lobsters, horseshoe crabs and prawns as well as fishes and shellfishes . the Matang Mangrove Forest Reserve has been proven to act as a natural barrier against tsunami .


Eagle Feeding


You will see sea eagles in many places around this mangrove . Helang in Malay means Eagle and Kawi is reddish brown color . The reddish brown eagles (also known as Brahminy Kites) are the most common form of eagles that you will find here . The main feeding areas of the reddish brown eagles . It is a spectacular sight where large number of eagles circle the sky and dive into the river to catch their food . You will watch this for about 10 minutes while sitting in the boat .


When we reach the calm water area surrounded by dense forests, the boatman shuts down the engine to eliminate the noise, goes to the backside of the boat with a bag full of chicken skins and starts throwing the pieces into the water . While feeding, at any point of time you will see 10-20 eagles hovering in the sky and swooping down as soon as they identify their targets .


Fish Farm


The Fish Farm is located at along the River . This activity was part of the Mangrove Tour . The fish farm is the last stop of the mangrove tour . At this farm , tourists can expect to see cuttlefish and huge amount Red talapia .


The farm was not huge but it was enough for us to see all the big fishes around , Once we reach there was a guy guide and started to showed us around the farm . There is a separate section where many types of fish are kept in water tanks. There are fish shows for the guests . You too can feed and stroke them if you so like .
