Kek Lok Tong / 极乐洞 , Ipoh

 

-- The Meaning of Kek Lok Tong is Ultimate Bliss or Great Happiness . it is located at Gunung Rapat and it is not that easy to find , need to go through residential area before arriving at Kek Lok Tong . The cave has been used as a place of worship since the 1920's but during the 1960's the area was engaged in iron mining and parts of the cave were excavated for this activity .

-- Maksud Kek Lok Tong adalah Ultimate Bliss atau Kebahagiaan . ia terletak di Gunung Rapat dan ianya tidak begitu mudah untuk dicari , perlu melalui kawasan perumahan sebelum sampai Kek Lok Tong . Gua ini telah digunakan sebagai tempat beribadat sejak tahun 1920-an tetapi semasa tahun 1960-an kawasan itu telah terlibat dalam perlombongan besi dan bahagian-bahagian gua telah digali untuk aktiviti ini .

-- 极乐洞的意义是极乐或者莫大的幸福 . 它位置在昆仑喇叭 , 这地方不容易找到 , 需要经过居民区再到达极乐洞 . 这个洞从1920年被用祭祀祈祷的场所 , 但在1960年这地区开始铁矿开采的这项活动 .

-- When mining ceased it was dedicated again to religious purposes and opened to visitors in the 1970s . The floor of the cave has been levelled and paved and much of the lower walls are lined with marble tiles . The roof and upper walls however remain in their natural state with some impressive stalactite formations .

-- Apabila perlombongan berhenti khususnya untuk tujuan keagamaan dan dibuka kepada pelawat pada tahun 1970-an . Lantai gua itu telah diratakan dan dinding lebih rendah yang dipenuhi dengan jubin marmar . bahagian ats bagaimanapun kekal dalam keadaan semula jadi dengan beberapa formasi stalaktit yang mengagumkan .

-- Benches have been installed with railings and staircases . it enjoys good natural lighting and a refreshing breeze blows through the cave . This atmosphere makes it a popular place for people to come and sit , relax and numbers of metal Buddhist and Taoist statues which were cast in Taiwan .

-- Bangku , pagar dan tangga telah dipasang . ia menikmati cahaya semula jadi yang baik dan angin yang menyegarkan yang bertiup melalui gua . Suasana ini menjadikannya tempat ini popular untuk orang ramai untuk datang dan duduk , berehat dan beberapa bentuk Buddha yang berbadan logam dan patung-patung Tao berbentuk dari Taiwan.

-- Steps lead down from the cave to the jogging/walking path circling the first lake where a sign directs you to walk round in a clockwise direction . The gardens include gazebos and a reflexology path .

Open Daily 7.00am - 5.30pm

Entrance is FREE and there is a donation booth if you would like to do some donation . Please do some donation , so they can keep this history cave well and let the next generation to explore it .
