Langkawi Travel Bubble 2021


After over a year of border closures, Langkawi reopened to fully vaccinated local tourists beginning 16 September 2021 For domestic and reopening for international traveler at November 15th without having to quarantine.

Based on a circular issued by Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture dated September 9, the SOPs are:
Completed 2 doses of vaccines.
  • Day trips are allowed. Bookings must be made in advance or through licenced travel agencies registered with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
  • Accommodation facilities open to travellers include the swimming pool, gym and lounge. 
  • The beach will be accessible and so water sports, snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing tours can be carried out. Edutainment centres, recreational parks, adventure parks, farms, aquariums, zoos, museums, galleries and other recreational and cultural premises receive the green light. Naturally golfing, yachting, caving, jungle trekking and the likes can also be done. 
  • There is no age limit imposed on travellers. However, those below 18 years old must be accompanied by fully vaccinated care-givers. 
  • Insurance coverage and Covid-19 screening aren’t required.
I visited Langkawi again for 6 days between 23th - 28th Oct 2021 after been announce open for vacation without swab test needed, In This trip I would like to share new and existing places in Langkawi. To have vacation in Langkawi can be made via flight or by land, but those who wish to travel by land will have to book their transportation via a tour agency. For me, I booked Firefly and depart from Subang Skypark Terminal at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SAASA) to Langkawi International Airport (LGK). It took only 75 minutes to arrive the beautiful Island, Thanks to Firefly for the great Hospitality and Good Service from ground to the sky. 
Once touch Down, we went for Laksa Kaw Ikan Sekoq just outside of the Langkawi International Airport. Stand by roadside food truck and facing the beach. wide range selection on foods and drinks to choose, If you have a chance to drop by visit them by serve local cuisine.

Sunset Dinner at Warung Upih, Here is my favourite place to enjoy a wide range of delicacies seafood with breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea, located end of Pantai Cenang beach where you will find local food inspired by Mediterranean flavours and the local fresh catch. Not much crowded on the beach with good photos taken.
Lunch at Nasi Dagang Pak Malau, a small neighborhood countryside restaurant in Langkawi, the food was spectacular. But the friendly owner, and the view overlooking the rice fields with the highest mountain on the island in the background, is what made it even better.

The final resting place of a beautiful maiden. Mahsuri’s Tomb or Makam Mahsuri is a shrine to one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived on the island. Legend has it that she was accused of adultery and executed by stabbing. It is then that white blood flowed from her, proving her innocence.

#CNY Day 5 (Horse Year 2014) After me and my cousins had our breakfast at 忠记兵如港口大树头炸料粉   we continue our day trip to Kwan Yin Tong Cave Temple,just a 15 minute drive from there.... I had a visit before this Kwan Yin Tong Cave Temple(观音洞) ,Ipoh  ,and this was my second visit.. Mahsuri was a young woman who lived in Langkawi, an island in Kedah, Malaysia, during the late 18th century. According to folklore, she was accused of adultery and executed by stabbing. Her tomb, Makam Mahsuri, has become a tourist attraction on the island.
